the Aum is my favorite symbol, ever. I attach Aum symbols with adhesive to most of my important possesions and apartment doors. I do not have an Aum symbol tattoo yet, but I am thinking about it. Aum symbols remind me to be peaceful and that the universe is a beautiful thing.

	This is my only tattoo. It contains the main mantra of Buddha, which is: Aum Mani Padme Hum. This has been translated to English as "Hail to Jewel in the Lotus Flower". The sanskrit version I have on my arm is the ancient version, before Tibetian and Indian written languages started putting the line at the top (ancient sanskrit is pretty much all lost). This mantra is engraved in prayer wheels all over the world, most of which are in India and Tibet.
